About Your Therapist

Kendralyn Bourgeois, MS, LPC

Education & Professional Experience

Hey there! I’m Kendralyn. Welcome to this space that I’ve created to begin to assist you on your Truth Journey.  I’m glad you are thinking of yourself and considering seeking mental wellness through individual, family or group therapy.

I am a former public school teacher and current middle school counselor who is now in part-time private practice.  I also have an extensive background in Family Services with my former experience as a Child Protective Services Investigator, Case Manager for families who were in need of food, shelter & medical assistance and Case Management for families who hosted foster children through a local Houston foster care agency.

Growing up in Dallas, Texas, I understand the unique experience of being raised in the inner city.  I have had the pleasure of working with families in every stage of life, whether positive or negative.

I earned my Masters Degree from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, took and successfully passed my NCE licensure exam, and obtained practice and training hours while in graduate school.  I am enjoying getting to know my clients upon the emergence of my professional individuality as a licensed counselor.

Why should I work with a Therapist?

Develop Coping Skills

Therapy can help you develop coping strategies to help manage & overcome difficult emotions & situations.  Various individuals benefit from a multitude of skills which can help you feel more in control of your life.

Improved Relationships

Therapy can help you improve communication & conflict resolution skills, which are essential for healthy relationships.  As you become more self-aware, you’ll find that these skills allow relationships to become more fulfilling and satisfying.

New Gained Perspective

Therapy can help you see problems or issues from a new angle, which can help you develop greater insight into why you think, feel or behave in certain ways.  It can be especially helpful if you feel stuck or unsure about how to move forward.

My Therapy Philosophy

What is a Truth Journey?

Well let’s define it and break it down.

Truth – facts, reality, belief, frank, admission, verity

Journey – A non-stop process of change and development of over a certain amount of time; going from one place to another or traveling; it’s a ride; it’s a VIBE.

Our truth belongs to us and no one else. We are responsible for evaluating and taking a deeper look at ourselves if we are in search of progress.  When we are truthful with ourselves, it doesn’t make the journey easy… just more manageable.

We meet people, go places and have experiences that are all our own. Each experience whether large or small has an impact on how we engage others and the world around us.
